St. Charles Fundraisers

Each year St. Charles asks its families to participate in 3 major fundraising activities:

  1. RaiseRight (formerly SCRIP)
  2. Excellence in Education Annual Fund
  3. Applause Auction

It is critical that we receive 100% participation from our families for these 3 major fundraisers.

RaiseRight (formerly SCRIP)

This is a year-long fundraising program based on rebates from vendor gift cards. Participation in the RaiseRight (SCRIP) program is mandatory. Families must purchase $3,000 in RaiseRight gift cards each year, or they may opt-out with a buy-out of $500.00 at the start of the school year instead of RaiseRight purchases. Each family’s $3,000 commitment must be completed by May 31st. RaiseRight gift cards are sold through weekly orders, standing monthly charges, in person, or through online ordering. RaiseRight gift cards are available for most grocery stores, gas stations, popular retailers, and restaurants. RaiseRight profit for the school is made from the margin between the vendor discount and the gift card’s face value. The proceeds from RaiseRight are split between the school and parish operating budgets.

Excellence in Education Be the Light Annual Fund

Our Annual Fund is launched each fall. The Annual Fund is designed to bridge the gap between tuition and what it actually costs to educate a child at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic School. Every gift greatly contributes to the high quality education St. Charles Borromeo Catholic School is able to provide its students. Each gift goes directly to the school’s operating budget which supports every aspect of the school, including classroom resources, faculty development, facilities investments, tuition assistance, and extracurricular programs and activities.

Families are expected to pledge annually to the drive. All gifts are tax-deductible and may be paid over ten months. Every gift, big or small, makes an impact.

Applause Auction

The school’s annual Applause Auction is held in May. It is a one night event with both a live and silent auction. The net proceeds are directed to various school needs and campus projects. All families are expected to donated items to support this event.

Additional Fundraisers

Each year, there are a couple additional fundraisers that we invite you to participate in. These fundraisers are “extra” and not required, but are important to our community.

Each year our SCOPE organization teams up with an organization called Boosterthon to host a fundraiser that involves our students. The SCOPE team works with the school’s administration to select an item for our campus that we will raise money for. In year’s past, we’ve done a dance-a-thon and a glow run for our students. Supporters can give flat donations or based on number of minutes danced or laps ran.

Established in 1983, Jump Rope for Heart is a skipping and fundraising program. It encourages kids to have a positive attitude towards exercise, healthy eating and heart health while raising vital funds to fight heart disease. Mr. Malo hosts this fundraiser each February during National Heart Month.
