GOD'S STORY ~ MY STORY

When we hear or read the Biblical stories, we see that God always acts in the same way. Four key Biblical Stories give us an insight into how God interacts with us:

> The first story of the Bible - Creation (Gen 1 and 2)

> The last story of the Bible - The New Creation
    (Rev 21-22:5)

> The central story of the Old Testament
(Hebrew Scriptures) - The Exodus (Exodus 2-20
       and 32-34)

> The central story of the New Testament
     (Christian Sciptures) - J
esus' Death and Resurrection
     (Matt 26-28, Mark 14-16, Luke 22-24, John 13-21)

In The Beginning...

In the story of how God created the world, we hear again and again what God said at the end of each day.
It is Good.

We also note that there is a plan to God's creation. On the first three days, God creates the environment for what is created on the second three days.

Day 1    Light & Night and Day               Day 4   Sun, moon and stars
Day 2    Separation of the water              Day 5   Fish and birds
             above from that below
Day 3   Dry land is separated                  Day 6  Animals and Humans
            from the water and
            plants appear.

It is clear that God creates with a sense of Order and Purpose.

What does God create?

Life and all that is necessary to sustain life.

From the first story of creation we learn that God is a God of
Goodness, Order (pupose) and Life.

Behold I Will Make All Things New

The story of the New Creation reaffirms the message of the First Creation.

Then there will be no more suffering or crying out in pain.
The new city is a city in which people will live in peace. Finally God says, "there will be no more death, but only eternal life."

These two stories of creation leave no doubt that God of the Bible is a God who creates Goodness, Order and Life.
