  PERSONAL PRAYER

Personal prayer is important because it enables us to develop an intimate relation with God. By following the Lord's own example and spending time in prayer, we are strengthened in becoming Witnesses to God's Reign and in reaching out to serve our neighbor in love.

Prayer can enrich our lives during joyful times and sustain us during painful times. It is important that we learn to pray spontaneously using whatever words come to us. Likewise a basic knowledge of traditional prayers enables us to both express and shape our relationship with God as Disciples have done down through the ages.
