St. Charles Borromeo School

Mission Statement

Inspired by Christ, our common vision at St. Charles is to prepare students to be responsible individuals with traditional Catholic values and a life-long love of learning. As a ministry of St. Charles Borromeo Parish, we provide opportunities for academic and spiritual growth within a secure and supportive environment in partnership with parents, parish and community.

School Admission Policy: Enrollment priority shall be given in the following order:

A. Children who are currently enrolled in St. Charles and whose families are registered and participating members of St. Charles Parish (see below) or whose parents are employees of St. Charles School or Parish and work 20 or more hours per week.

B. Children whose parent is a current full-time employee of St. Charles Parish or School or has a teaching contract or is an hourly employee (working 20 or more hours per week) and are registered and participating members of St. Charles Borromeo Parish (see below).

C. Brothers and sisters of children currently attending St. Charles Borromeo School and whose parents are registered and participating members of St. Charles Parish (see below).

Preference will be given to parishioners based on longevity as active parishioners and the length of enrollment of older siblings.

D. Children of registered and participating members (parent or guardian) of St. Charles Parish, with preference given to longevity of participating membership in the parish with all things being equal.

E. Brothers and sisters of children currently attending St. Charles Borromeo School and whose parents are registered participating members of another Catholic parish.

F. Grandchildren of registered, participating members of St. Charles Parish

G. Children of registered, participating members of other Catholic parishes.

H. Children of registered, St. Charles Parish member (parent or guardian), but who have not been participating.

I. Children of families of other religious denominations.

All new students are admitted conditionally for the first two grading periods.

Participating members of the St. Charles Parish are defined as:

A. Registered in St. Charles Borromeo Parish;

B. Participating in weekly Mass and Holy Days as reflected by the use of envelopes in the Sunday Collection (at least 30 per year) and having established such a record of regular Mass attendance for at least 1 year (12 months).

C. Current sacrificial giving card on file with the parish (renewed annually in November).

D. Participation in parish activities or ministries.

Any exception to this policy guideline must be approved by the Principal and the Pastor.

In-Parish Tuition Requirements

St. Charles Borromeo Parish is dedicated to Stewardship and tithing. Parishioners are registered members of our community who give of their time, talents and treasure to our community. Parish families are expected to contribute to the financial well-being of the parish which in turn supports each school family through a substantial subsidy to the school. Consequently only those families meeting the criteria below are eligible for In-parish tuition rates.

A. Registered in St. Charles Borromeo Parish

B. Attendance at weekly Mass and Holy Days as reflected by the use of envelopes (at least 30 per year) in the Sunday Collection and having established such a record for at least 12 months.

C. Current sacrificial giving card on file with the parish to be renewed annually in November.

D. Participation in parish activities and/or ministries

E. Completion of school service hours.**

**Service hours are required of each family with children in the school with a minimum of 30 hours per two parent/guardian family, 15 hours for a single-parent/guardian family, regardless of parish affiliation. Families who opt not to give of their time either in part or full will be required to pay $25.00 per hour for time not completed.

Families who fail to maintain in-parish status will be charged out-of-parish tuition. In-parish status is monitored by Review Period in December and June. Families not maintaining participating in-parish status for the Review Period will be charged as out-of-parish for the following Tuition Pay Period.
