Stewardship Mission Statement
To grow in gratitude for God's blessings and respond by sharing our time, talent and treasure in support of St. Charles Borromeo Parish and School.
Stewardship
The St. Charles Borromeo Stewardship Office (formerly called Development Office) is located in the school and serves both our school and parish families. Our focus is to establish relationships with families by helping them give of their time, talent and treasure in a way that is productive and fun for them.
We steward their time and talents through vounteering in our community at events like the annual auction, Booster Club carnival or crab feed, and SCOPE activities. We steward their treasure through programs like our school Partners in Excellence Annual Fund or sponsor a students tuition or hot lunch for the year.

Our parish practices stewardship with regard to our school. The parish pledges 35% of regular parish income annually to the school budget. This amount allows the school to offer a substantial reduction in tuition to parish members. Parents are asked to make a sacrificial gift weekly to the parish and are required to have a stewardship card on file in order to qualify for in-parish tuition.
We are called to remember our many blessings and, in light of economic realities, to share in supporting the historical sacrifices pastors, religious, and parents have so willingly shown by their example.
This is vital to Catholic education now and necessary to understand, if we are to provide a legacy of future Christ-based Catholic education.

The greatest people have a simplicity and spirit of service about them that is hard for “not-so-great” people to comprehend and understand. The greatest truths are the simplest. How we treat those who are unable to fully provide for themselves is our greatest gift. Our actions and deeds are the true measure of who we are.
“See How They Love One Another” is our theme for the school year.
The Annual Fund campaign enables us to keep our school “affordable” to all. Affordability is always a relative term; tuition, no matter how minimal we try to keep it, is a challenge for some of our families. This school year, 2009-2010, we will distribute over $116,000 in tuition scholarships to families with children attending our parish school. We ask your help in enabling us to meet these requests.
The current economic environment has put a strain on our Endowment Fund and we are unable to provide the necessary funding for scholarships. We need your help! We ask you to pledge or make a contribution to our Annual Fund campaign. We will continue to divide your contribution between scholarships (60%) and school operations (40%). We will receive $51,000 this year from interest on the Endowment Fund; we will need to use $65,000 from the initial 60% received to reach our scholarship budget. This is in compliance with our Endowment Fund guidelines and allows us to continue our funding for scholarships and school operations.
“See How They Love One Another!” We ask you to join us as a Catholic-Christian community to keep our vision alive: No child will be denied an education in our school because of a lack of family finances. To print a commitment form click HERE. Make an online donation NOW.
