NEWS FLASH!!!!

BOOK FAIR DINER:  ALL YOU CAN READ!

The spring book fair is scheduled the first week of May.  Be sure to come and check out all the great books that will be offered.  It's a great time to stock up for summer reading!  More information to come soon!

Accessing Destiny from home:  You can access the library catalog from home!  On the St. Charles web site choose Student Resources then click on Destiny library catalog. The students can search for books, check their account, and recommend books to others once they have logged on.  If you are looking for a Reading Counts book, just choose that option at the bottom of the basic search page.  Type in your subject and click keyword. 

Playaways have been added to the collection and are available for check out for 3rd grade on up.  These are audio books that look like an mp3 player.  See Mrs. Hart if you are interested in checking one of these out.

Just a reminder if you have an overdue book emails are automatically sent out every Friday morning as a gentle reminder. You can then renew the book or return it on Monday.   

Classes Pre K through 6th grade visit the library at least once a week and on an as need basis.  Seventh and eighth grade students visit the library as needed.  Students are welcome to use the library before school and after school to work on projects, check out books and read. 

Due dates:

K-3rd  One week

4th-8th 2 weeks

Books can be renewed if more time is needed. 

BOOK CARE RULES

Wash hands before reading a book.

Keep books away from food or drinks.

Use a book mark for saving your place in a book.  Do not turn down pages or turn a book on its face.

Keep books dry at all times.

Keep books safe by putting them away in your backpack and away from babies and pets.

Keep crayons, markers, glue, scissors, pencils, pens, away from library books.

If you tear a page bring it in to be repaired.

If a library book is lost or damaged beyond repair students are responsible for paying for the book.
