November’s book report: The requirements have been sent home for this month’s book report. Please help your child to complete this project. Due Date: Monday, Dec. 4th.

OLD NEWS:

Elf Help:  We are still in need of $3 for a secret elf project for the coming holiday (many have sent in their money).  Thanks for your help.  And parents, no questions asked.

Guadalupe House Penny Drive: One of our fourth grade service projects this year is to support Guadalupe House. Guadeloupe House is a Catholic charity that helps families with young children. We have been collecting pennies (and any other coins and bills) for our special project.. We’ll have two large penny jars (one in each classroom) that will need to be filled.  Once filled, the kids will roll the coins.  From there, we’ll give each child an envelope containing some cash (hopefully $10.00 each) and an item they’ll need to purchase.  Once all items are purchased we’ll have a donation party. It’s our goal to have the kids take ownership and responsibility for this special project. You can help by looking under chair cushions for those pennies! Lots more information will be sent home later.

Assignment Books: Please remember to sign your child’s assignment book nightly when the homework has been completed and checked.

Book Orders:  Don’t forget  you can order online  at scholastic.com/readingclub.  Mrs. Griffin’s class code is DWRV3 and Mrs. Vecchiato’s code is GVLKP. There is no deadline to order online. We will be notified and will place the orders ASAP.

Up and coming events…

Prayer Tests: All students are expected to successfully pass their monthly prayers before the end of the month.  Students may take the oral exam whenever they are prepared.

November’s Prayer- PRAYER FOR PEACE (St. Francis Assisi):  Lord, make me an instrument of your peace. where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; and where there is sadness, joy. Grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console, to be understood as to understand, to be loved as to love; for it is in giving that we receive, it is in pardoning that we are pardoned, and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
