Language Arts News:  The requirements for the biography book report were sent home this week.  Please be on the lookout for them.  They need to read a book on a particular person then write a fact-filled speech as if they were that person (2-4 minutes in length).  They also need to make a puppet of their person to use in the puppet theater during their speech.  It is really important to have them practice saying their speech while holding their puppet.  It will be due on Monday, January 29th.

Guadalupe House Penny Drive: We are still collecting pennies (and any other coins and bills) for the Guadalupe House. You can help by looking under chair cushions for those pennies! Lots more information will be sent home later. We are hoping to roll the coins during Catholic Schools week (Jan 29th).

Assignment Books: Your student is expected to bring their assignment book home filled out completely. We are hoping that your child is sharing with your their daily assignments as well as any projects or tests coming up! Please let us know via email if you would like us to sign your student’s planner each day.

Book Orders:  Don’t forget  you can order online  at  Mrs. Griffin’s class code is DWRV3 and Mrs. Vecchiato’s code is GVLKP. There is no deadline to order online. We will be notified and will place the orders ASAP.

Up and coming events…

Prayer Tests: All students are expected to successfully pass their monthly prayers before the end of the month.  Students may take the oral exam whenever they are prepared.

January’s Prayer-

ACT OF CONTRITION (Alternate version from the Rite of Penance) My God, I am sorry for my sins with all my heart. In choosing to do wrong and failing to do good, I have sinned against you whom I should love above all things. I firmly intend, with your help, to do penance, to sin no more, and to avoid whatever leads me to sin. Our Savior Jesus Christ suffered and died for us. In his name, my God, have mercy.
