Congratulations to the St. Charles robotics teams. Both teams had an outstanding performance last Saturday at the First Lego League (FLL) Robotics Regional Competition.
The Spicy Amigo team won the Team Work award! AND The Robotech 3rd Generation team won the Project award! (Check out their project on the subpage to this webpage).
The FLL Robotics State Competition will be held at Liberty Jr. High School (Spanaway) on Saturday December 11. Both of the St. Charles teams have been invited to compete. In the morning from 9:30 to 11:30, all the teams are having closed-door judging on their projects and robot design. But many teams will be fine-tuning their robot performance on the practice tables, so you can watch that, or just wander around the team tables and look at their robots and any project information they might have out. This year's project theme is biotechnology. In the afternoon, each team will have 3 tries at the robot performance competition. This is where they try to get as many points as they can by completing tasks in 2 1/2 minutes on a 4' x 8' field. This fun begins about 12:30 and the awards are presented in the late afternoon. "The Spicy Amigos" is coached by Cathy Bass, with assistance from Kevin Braun, and the team members are: Bryce, Isao, Kaitlyn, Cecelia, Sebastian, and Jacob (St. Charles parish).
"Robotech 3rd Generation" is coached by Joe Rusinko and Teresa Gauthier and the team members are: Daniel , Mack , Andrew , Ethan , Nicholas , Derrek , and Alex.
Please come to watch and support our teams!
